Hadjigeorgiou argued that radical nationalist groups threatened KTÖS members in his letter despite the fact that there was no threat or any form of violence against KTÖS members. He argued that KTÖS agendas, which distributed among its members as new year present, containing brief information about the last sixty years of Cyprus History appeared to annoyed many ultranationalist and parliamentary Turkish Cypriot groups.
In his letter Hadjigeorgiou said that KTOS General Secretary Sener Elcil was awarded as the Citizen’s Prize of the European Parliament and actively take a leading role in the solution of the Cyprus Problem. Hadjigeorgiou claimed that this lynching disturbing campaigns against KTOS are not only affecting its members but also they are affecting the efforts to solve Cyprus problem and vision of united Cyprus.
Hadjigeorgiou requested European Parliament to show its support to KTOS and its peace building initiatives which lead the solution of Cyprus Problem.
After Hadjigeorgious letter to EU Parliament, many Turkish Cypriots reach us and saying that “now we understand this whole agenda scenario of KTOS and totally understand their actions and whose supporting them, letter from Hadjigeorgiou proves this, we do not need anything else.”
